TOBACCO

Tobacco is a plantation product which is mostly used as raw material for cigarettes, both in Indonesia and abroad. The other benefits are as a component of sedatives and insecticides. Tobacco has the Latin name Nicotiana, belongs to the Solanaceae family. There are more than 70 species of tobacco worldwide, such as Nicotiana acuminata, Nicotiana africana, Nicotiana benthamiana, Nicotiana othopora, Nicotiana longiflora, and many more. However, the most widely developed and utilized because of their high economic value are Nicotiana tabacum and Nicotiana rustica. This plant is native to North America and South America. When Christopher Columbus crossed the Atlantic Ocean for the first time in 1942, Native Americans living in New York had presented him with tobacco leaves. And a century after that smoking has become a global favorite, and continues to provide economic benefits to entrepreneurs in the United States.


CLOVE

Clove (Syzigium aromaticum) belongs to the Myrtaceae family. This plant is included in the category of spices, and its use can be as a medicinal ingredient. Cloves are native to Indonesia, widely used as a spice in spicy dishes in European countries and as the main ingredient in Indonesian kretek cigarettes. Although now cloves have been cultivated in other countries, Indonesia remains the largest clove producer in the world.
